The film "Into the deep, deep blue" is dedicated to the theme of motherhood, with a focus on mothers in prostitution. The central question deals with the change in a woman's identity, especially during her maternity, and highlights the prevailing image of the mother in German society. Due to its open laws, Germany is often referred to as "the brothel of Europe", as women from all over the world are brought here (mostly unwillingly) to sell their bodies. Due to their difficult living conditions, these women often do not have the opportunity to experience motherhood as fully as most other women in our society. Children are often left behind in their home countries, must be aborted, given to foster families or hidden.
The aim of this work is to bring the stories of mothers in prostitution to the public and to create a dialogue at eye level: formally, the mothers embark on a journey into the deep blue of the Blue Holes, a surreal place where the horizon disappears. These "Blue Holes" are sinkholes anchored deep in the ocean, up to 300 metres below the seabed. The interior of a Blue Hole, home to stalactites and stalagmites, is only accessible to a few divers and is home to a little explored world. The Blue Hole, an indefinable dance space, and the depths of the ocean accompany the interview scenes as an audiovisual landscape, underscored with the sounds of whales and everyday noises.
